John Deere Lawnmowers Offer A Wide Range Of StylesWhen it comes to choosing a lawnmower it is usually a good idea to choose one from a company that's been around for a while and has a good reputation for high quality and service, and it is for this reason that many people take a look at John Deere lawnmowers, since the company has been around for over a century and is known worldwide for producing reliable and powerful lawnmowers. The company produces lawnmowers filled with some of the most up to date technologies you can find, and produce its mowers in a range that encompasses push mowers, walk-behind mowers, and the larger riding lawnmowers. This article will take a look at a few of these types and some of the considerations that need to be borne in mind before choosing a John Deere lawnmower for your needs. There are essentially two types of walk behind or push mowers produced by John Deere, and these include steel deck mowers and aluminum deck mowers, both of which are high quality units that can make a great job of mowing your lawn. Steel deck mowers can be in wide range of styles, but include mulching mowers, which usually have a side discharge option and a bagging option, enabling you to either spread the grass clippings on the lawn in order to turn them into mulch or bag the grass clippings for putting onto a compost heap. Many of these mowers are either battery-powered or electric mowers that run from the mains. Many have an electrical start, which makes turning the mower on very easy. In most cases the mowers have a 21-inch steel deck, many of which are rust and dent resistant, while a four-cycle engine is often standard on these types. The walk behind mower is usually used for small lawns, since using this type over large areas can be extremely tiring, even if it is a self-propelled mower type. When it comes to a larger lawn, especially a lawn of over half an acre, a riding mower is often the best choice, since they can easily cope with large areas of grass cutting and even deal with tall grass and rough grass without problem. The person driving the mower needs to make very little effort and simply needs to guide them where they want to go. Cutting heights usually vary, with a riding mower cutting height usually being much higher than that of a standard push mower, often as high as five or 6-inches. For those who have small lawns with tight corners, a zero turn mower that can cut in a very small radius should be a choice. EZ Track models Most ride on lawnmowers have multiple blades so that they can cut very tough and coarse grass, and even very tough weeds, something which is helped by the fact that the mower frame is usually made from a heavy gauge steel. It's a very durable lawnmower, and most of them can last for many years without problem. One of the most popular choices is the 100 series riding mowers, many of which come with a 26 hp motor, and which can both be used as a mulching mower or one to bag the grass cuttings. These include the LA 110, 120 and 130, while the EZtrack mower series offer excellent maneuverability, being able to do a zero turn. For special tasks a John Deere X. series should be considered, especially the X500 used for large lawns, and the X700, which is made for heavy-duty moving jobs. A few other mowers worth considering include the John Deere 54-inch zero turn lawn tractor. These can be bought for around $4,000 and can be used as both a commercial grass mower and a residential mower. Coming with a 23 HP Briggs & Stratton engine, this mower gives a high-quality cut, with exceptional maneuverability and trimming capability, using the edge cutting system offering side discharge, mulching option, or can collect the grass in a 6.5 bushel rear bag. It offer a 1-inch cutting height, up to 4-inch cutting height in 1/4-inch increments.; Cruise control Also worth considering is the John Deere LA145 Lawn Tractor, which costs around $2,000 and uses the CargO Mount system for quick attachment of attachments and accessories. Giving a perfectly level cut, the mower also allows mulching, side discharge and bagging. The deck is 12-gauge steel, while the engine gives standard cruise control. Also worth looking at is the GS30 commercial walk behind mower for those heavy duty mowing jobs. This has a 48-inch deck and a 13 hp Kohler engine with 5 forward speeds and 1 reverse speed, along with a 5 gallon fuel tank. Whatever the type of terrain you have and no matter the size of lawn, there is probably something in the John Deere lawnmower family that is exactly right for you. The range of small push mowers are perfect for the average small suburban lawn, while the riding lawnmowers, including the smaller types, are perfect for a residential lawn that needs a bit of extra work, while the large body types are excellent for rough terrain, even where there is a need for great maneuverability, including a zero turn option. |
